"Acmade joins forces with 007. Moonraker editor John Glen says : "Our Acmade Compeditor 35 has been invaluable in helping us meet the very tight deadline on Moonraker. I consider it a very important cutting room accessory and on a location picture such as ours, its easy transportability has been a real asset. My staff have found it excellent for syncing up dailies, fitting wild tracks, post sync and laying effects and music for re-recording". John Glen with his Compeditor 35 mm in the Boulogne Studios in Paris during editing of Moonraker" (American Cinematographer, July 1979, p. 655).

"The Acmade Compeditor, available in both 16mm and 35mm models, was designed for the working film editor. It is a compact, table-top editor which combines a four-gang synchronizer, under mag sound heads, pre-amplifier, large screen viewer and synchronous motor into an efficient, one-unit editing machine. Featuring both motorized and hand-cranked operation, the Acmade Compeditor allows an editor to sync dailies, assemble scenes and split and lay tracks faster than any other editing machine on the market. It is ideal as a complete editing system or as a companion to a flatbed editing machine. The Acmade, when being used for the first or rough cut, doubles editing manpower by freeing the flatbed editor for fine cutting. Extremely easy to operate because of its compact design and physical layout, the Acmade has a simple threading pattern and easy-to-reach controls. Quick access to all its operating features make the Acmade ideal when speed and efficiency is desired in film editing" (American Cinematographer, January 1979, p. 9).

"A 35mm version of the Acmade picture synchronizer, designated Compeditor 35, was announced by Alan Gordon Enterprises Inc., 1430 N. Cahuenga Bd, Hollywood, CA 90028. This motorized editing machine incorporates a viewing head and four soundtracks, with one of the tracks being disengageable, allowing all searching to be carried out on the same machine. The manipulation of film and magnetic sound tapes on these machines is very simple, enabling the editor to work at high speed. The portable and rugged unit weighs 19 kg. The price of the Compeditor is $ 4500 to 4750" (SMPTE Journal, vol. 88, December 1979, p. 884).
