"En juin 1879, l'éditeur du journal londonier The Field, W. B. Tegetmeier, eut l'idée de commercialiser les dessins de Muybridge sous forme de bande pour le praxinoscope d'Emile Reynaud. Cette bande, vendue un shilling, porte l'inscription "The Gallop, from Tegetmeier on the Paces of the Horse" arranged by the Author for the Praxinoscope". Les dessins (12 chevaux au galop en ombres chinoises) sont très fins et précis" (Laurent Mannoni, Le grand art de la lumière et de l'ombre, France, 1995, p. 290).
