Lorsqu'on allume l'appareil, un message s'affiche : "Transvideo for Clint Eastwood". Une version existe où un autre message ajoute : "...and not for Steven Spielberg". Spielberg en effet avait vu cet appareil entre les mains d'Eastwood, l'avait voulu, mais sans vouloir l'acheter...
"The 5" Rainbow was the first LCD monitor with an image quality to satisfy camera assistants. One could look at the screen and not see individual pixels. Focus Pulling became possible most of the time from the monitor. The Rainbow was also the first monitor viewable in the sun. It was very simple to use, with only the basic functions required by the 1st AC. This monitor had to be as compact as possible in order not to obstruct the Operator's line of sight or to unbalance the camera head. The simple potentiometers were integrated in the monitor's side to minimize its size.
