"X - 400 Series Recorders. 16mm only, synchronous magnetic film. X - 400 type 1 portable. The X - 400 is a complete synchronous 16mm magnetic film recording and reproducing channel, professional in every detail. This is the answer for the independent producer whose budget had previously prevented him from taking advantage of sprocketed double-system production. This unit is also designed around the basic "Synkinetic" motion principle that through the years has given meaning to the Magnasync pledge - Quality, Economy, Integrity ! Features : - Professional, heavy-duty construction. - Bias indication, readout. - Simple projector interlock. - Instantaneous "Film-Direct" monitoring. - Simplicity of operation. - Extreme lightweight portability. Attractively housed in break apart case. - Low power consumption. - SMPTE standard performance. Specifications : Film type, Tracking, Model Numbers : 16 mm, Edge Track, Model X - 400 E-1 ; 16mm, Center Track, Model X - 400 C-1 ; 16mm, Release Print, Model X - 400 R-1. Film capacity : standard 400 ft reels ; accessory extension arms may be used to accomodate 1200 ft reels. Rewind : 4:1 ratio reel to reel or synchronous reverse through sprocket drive. Drive motor : salient pole synchronous. Standard unit furnished with 115 volt, 60 cycle, single phase, 24 fps drive motor. Drive motors with other voltages, cycles and phases available including 25 fps film speed at 50 cycles at no additional cost. Frequency response : 50 to 10 000 cps, 2 db. Distortion : less than 2% total harmonic. Signal to noise ratio : 56 db. Flutter and Wow : 0.18 % maximum rms overall. Inputs : High gain microphone (strapped for 50 ohms standard. Can easily be changed to 250 ohms or 500 ohms). Cannon X-L connector. Hi Impedance input. Output : Cathode follower (6 volt into 600 ohms). Monitor : 3 1/2 VU meter monitors input signal. Monitor output will feed any impedance above 600 ohms. Monitor direct through amplifier or switch to Film Monitor for simultaneous playback from film.
