Isaac Knott, peintre de plaques de verre de lanterne magique, a commencé a exercé en 1840 à Liverpool. Il devient un intervenant de la Royal Polytechnic en tant que peintre de plaques. En 1878, il est installé 22 Elliot Street (publicité dans The Magic Lantern Manual, Chadwick, W.J. Frederick Warne, 1878). Cette lanterne a été trouvée par le collectionneur anglais Mike Simkin dans les années 1960 chez un antiquaire à Milmslow, Cheshire.
