"F.L. Perken, E.T. Perken, A. Rayment, english trade manufacturers and direct retailers of photographic and other optical and scientific equipment, including magic lanterns, from July 1887, successor to Lejeune & Perken. They advertised in the late 1880s from 99 Hatton Garden, and from 1894 to 1896 also at 141 Oxford Street, London. The Optimus trademark was used extensively. The firm became Perken, Son & Co. Ltd in 1900, and last advertised in 1913, although they continued to be listed well into the 1920s" (David Robinson, Stephen Herbert, Richard Crangle, Encyclopaedia of the Magic Lantern, London, The Magic Lantern Society, 2001, p. 226).
