Remarques

Marque : "Bell & Howell Film double run Eight - Model 134 - A. Ciné-Caméra Made in USA" ; "Pat.d in US & Foreign Countries Pat's pend. US. Pat. N° 1.991.853".

"Filmo Double 8 Cameras for low-cost personal movies in color or black-and-white. Smallest and lightest of personal movie cameras, the Filmo Double 8 measures only 1 3/4 by 3 by 5 inches, and weighs only 24 ounces. Film for the Filmo Double 8 costs only $ 2.25 for a roll long enough for twenty or twenty-five movie scenes... about 10 c a scene for real theater-quality action pictures. Full color film costs only two-thirds more. There is no extra charge for film processing. Loading is done in a moment, and by daylight. There are no sprockets to thread, no loops to form. Then set the lens as directed by the built-in-exposure calculator, find your subject through the spyglass viewfinder, and press the starting button. What you see, you get ! A footage dial tells accurately how much film has been exposed. The rotary disc shutter gives a 1/35 second exposure at normal speed... a uniforme exposure over the entire picture area. The powerful spring motor is precisely governed and is automatically stopped before deceleration begins. Four operating speeds are available, including either half (8) speed or slow motion (64) speed, according to the model selected. In addition, every Filmo 8 has a positive single frame exposure device, useful for animation work and trick titles" (Bell & Howell Film 8 mm Motion Picture Equipment, [Chicago], Bell & Howell, s.d.)

"The coming of age of 8 mm apparatus has been closely watched (and now acclaimed) by critical observers. Only precision apparatus capable of accurate performance on this miniature scale would satisfy this exacting scrutiny. Dealers and cine experts with one accord quote Filmo 8 mm apparatus as the shining example of 8 mm victory. And small wonder : Filmo apparatus is designed and manufactured by the craftsmen who produce most of the professional equipment for the studios of Hollywood and the world. Here's the range in brief. You can see them all at your dealers : Model 134 E Double 8 Camera ; Model 134 - F Double 8 Camera ; Model 134 G Double 8 Camera ; Model 134 H Double 8 Camera ; Film Straight 8" (Home Movies & Home Talkies, January 1939, p. 355).

"There are four Filmo Double Eights for the movie-maker. Two are equipped with Taylor-Hobson 12,5 mm F 2,5 lens, matching viewfinder masks, and automatically set footage dials. The normal speed is designed for operation at 8, 16, 24 and 32 frames. $ 75. The super-speed model at 16, 32, 48 and 64, $ 80. Priced for the more modest purse are two companion Double Eights, both equipped with F 3,5 color-corrected anastigmat. The normal speed model is priced at $ 49,50, the super speed at $ 54.50. All four Filmo Double Eights have rotary disc shutter, giving a uniform 1/35 second exposure at normal speed - the even, uniform illumination especially necessary for Kodachrome work. All have powerful spring motor, accurately governed, built in exposure calculator, and enclosed spyglass viewfinder" (publicité Bell & Howell, mars 1937).
