"A mid-range DLP Cinema projector designed to meet the need for the highest quality movie displays of up to 10 m (33 ft) wide. Ideal for feature screenings in smaller cinemas, the compact D-Cine Premiere DP30 is also ideal for the grading of DLP Cinema Digital Masters and Film Intermediates in Post House facilities where space is at a premium. Based on the Texas Instruments 0.9 DLP "dark chip" - and providing all the performance, security, color, image and contrast management benefits of the DLP Cinema technology, the DP30 builds on the many functionnal advantages of the State-of-the-Art D-Cine Premiere DP50 projector and is compatible with all its Touch Screen, ACSAR switcher and D-Cine Communication control accessories" (D-Cine Premiere DP30, Compact Digital Cinema Projector, Belgique, Barco, février 2003).
1987 : mise au point aux Etats-Unis de la technologie DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) par la firme Texas Instruments.
1995 : projecteur numérique de démonstration basé sur le technologie DMD.
1997 : en mai, présentation du projecteur numérique.
1999 : pendant l'été, première projection test auprès du public américain avec Stars Wars, la menace fantôme de George Lucas, dans quatre salles équipées à New York et Los Angeles. A la fin de l'année, douze salles nord-américaines sont équipées d'un prototype Texas Instruments DLP pour Toy Story 2.
2000 : Texas Instruments équipe quatre villes d'Europe avec un prototype du même projecteur numérique DLP : Paris (Gaumont Aquaboulevard), 2 février, Londres, Manchester, Bruxelles.
