"Prestwich perforating machines. The necessity of accuracy in perforating cannot be too strongly urged, as steady pictures are otherwise impossible. By a new process of making the dies and punches extreme accuracy is now obtained in the Prestwich perforators. The dies and punches are made of hardened steel. We made the following types : 1. A stamping or step machine which perforates four holes each side per revolution. 2. A stamping or step machine which perforates one hole each side per revolution. 3. A stamping or step machine which perforates one hole each side per revolution, with an adjustable feed to enable the pitch of the perforations to be altered. 4. A rotary type which perforates 85 holes each side per revolution of the handle. An accurate machine and very quick in operation. [...] For ordinary commercial work we recommand n° 1, and for extreme accuracy for negatives n° 2" (Illustrated Catalogue of the Prestwich Specialities for Animated Photography, Londres, The Prestwich Manufacturing Co., s.d., p. 10-11).
