Caméra pour enregistrement d'images en Rayons X et de radars, pour prise de vue en continue, séquencée, image par image, avec dispositif automatique de réglage de lumière. Existe aussi en 16 mm.
"The Arri Fast Pull-Down Camera is specially constructed for single frame shots of radar or X-ray screen images. In order to reduce the time between takes and their evaluation, black-and-white reversal film with positive perforation is used. Printing and the printing loss involved are thereby eliminated. After the film is loaded the desired frame timing set and, therefore, the exposure, and the control apparatus switched on, all mechanical and electrical operations during the entire filming are controlled electronically. The exposure time, which is longer than that of normal motion picture cameras (it is interrupted by the extremely quick film transport - fast pull-down), allows the use of less sensitive film materials with their corresponding fine-grained emulsions in spite of the weak monochromatic intensity of the screen image. The camera operates continually with a magazine load of 120 m at 1 second exposure for about 2 hours and 20 minutes, at 4 seconds exposure for about 9 hours and 20 minutes, until the film end automatically switches off the camera. The F.P.D. camera is equipped with a Zeiss Distagon 1:2.8, f/25 mm, a miniature still camera lens with especially large resolving power and free of distortion. The camera is mounted stationary for the filming of radar or X-ray screen images. [...] The F.P.D. Camera is connected to an electronic control unit which converts the switch impulses of the attached time accelerator unit into a controlled current amount for the disk motor and also feeds the magazine take-up motor" (Technical Information Arri Fast Pull-Down Camera, Munich, Arnold & Richter, 1966).
