"J. H. Steward's A 1 Standard Bi-Unial Lantern, of highest finish, for oxy-hydrogen light, superior mahogany body, with four moulded doors, brass doors at sides of lantern for the insertion of tinters, and producing special effects, brass mounted dark glasses, bar handles for lifting by, brass stages and adjusting plates of extra quality, stone curled and lacquered, three draw telescopic fronts, improved rackwok curtain shutter with supplemental slide, so as to be always in the lantern . The condensers are 4 1/4 inch diameter of very fine quality. The front lenses consist of special high class combination lenses (achromatic and corrector) of about 6 inches equivalent focus, and three extra achromatic lenses in separate tube mounts, giving, separately and by combination, the same size picture at seven different distances from the screen. These lenses are mounted in tubes to pull out complete from the rackwork focussing tube, and the advantage of this is that they can be rapidly changed during an exhibition, and thus permit the size of an effect, figure, or statue to be reduced to be reduced or increased at will. Improved mixed gas jets, with mechanical adjustements for perfectly centring the light, universal dissolver, improved adjusting stages and stops for perfect registration of slides, flap shutters to fronts. Price complete in superior casen with rising board, £44, 10" (Catalogue (Part V.) J. H.
