Remarques

Marques : "Moviola Model Crab Dolly 115 volts n° 44 181. Moviola Manufacturing Co. 1451 Gordon St. Hollywood 28 California U.S.A. Made in U.S.A." ; "RTF tournage DMC 2 SFP. M.T.".

"Crab Dolly for motion picture and television cameras, the best in mobility. Acceptance of the Moviola Crab Dolly for motion picture and television cameras is world wide as evidenced by unsolicited testimonials. Users have learned through experience that the Moviola Crab Dolly provides a mobile platform for their camera that can be precisely positioned with more facility and speed, and with greater accuracy than any other type of camera support. The noiseless, gliding, operation of the Moviola Crab Dolly doesn't interfere with sound takes. Interesting moving shots need not be sacrified because they coincide with dialog. Nor do the actors have to be called back for re-recording sessions. It also eliminates the extra editing, lip sync, and dubbing problems that this entails. Steering : selected by control on steering column. No limits on rotation of steering column. A. Crab steering - all wheel spindles turn through same angle. B. Conventional steering - wheel spindles at front (camera end) fixed. Wheel spindles at rear turned by compensating mechanism so that wheels track perfectly. No tire squeaking. C. Locked - all wheel spindles locked with wheels parallel to lenght of chassis. Boom : located off chassis centerline for better dolly balance. Thumb screw adjusted plate at top for easy camera leveling. Raised or lowered by hydraulic cylinder with fluid pressure supplied by accumulator. Accumulator charged by hand pump or 115 volt AC-DC electric pump. Quiet operation permits elevating or lowering boom during shooting. Seats : two furnished seats can be mounted in 4 positions on the chassis and 2 positions on the boom. Seat mounted on boom to reduce operator fatigue. Chassis : rugged yet lightweight aluminium construction. Eight ball-bearing wheels with 10" O.D. pneumatic tires. Floor lock to hold dolly in place. Maintenance : lubrication and adjustments infrequently required and easily accomplished" (Catalog January 1966, Moviola manufacturing co.
